Cylinder Specifications & PreparationQuality and stability of ultra-pure gases are very sensitive to the material and preparation of cylinders and valves which requires a high accurateness in the selection process.
Cylinder materials can be annealed steel with specially treated inner surfaces, passivated aluminium alloys or electropolished stainless steel. For valves, however, only stainless steel is the material of choice. After various investigations these combinations have been proven to provide lowest particle densities, leak tightness, optimum purging and operating behaviour and reliability. Pneumatic valves or flow restrictors are optionally available.
Beside the choice of the ideal container material its pre-treatment plays a crucial role, as well. Each cylinder is subjected to an intensive preparation procedure (including turbo pump evacuation) and is checked for particle emission and remaining residues before filling.
